Dressed as the White Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland, Samantha Poisson-Smith, 14, left, tells Lansing Mayor David Hollister to hurry up and cut the ribbon because they are running late during the dedication ceremonies for the new Foster Library in the Foster Community Center, April 11, 2000. The Alice in Wonderland theme was used for the dedication because a fireplace in the building was uncovered that uses ceramic tiles featuring the Alice in Wonderland characters and now the fireplace is a central part of the new library. Children from nearby Fairview Elementary School wait to use the new library.
