Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz announces defensive back Jalen Embry will transfer.

Defensive back Jalen Embry, a redsdhirt freshman from Detroit, has decided to transfer out of the Iowa football program.

"Jalen Embry has decided to leave the football team," Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said in a release. "Jalen has elected to continue his academic and football career at a junior college and leaves Iowa in good standing, both academically and through his citizenship. Our staff and Jalen's teammates wish him the best."

Embry was not on Iowa's two-deep. He joined the Hawkeyes after playing defensive back and wide receiver at King High School in Detroit.
